What is the best ceramic flat iron?

You'll want to be very carefuly when shopping for a flat iron. There are a lot of them which exude strange smells or some in which the plates peel off after a few months. Make sure you're getting the best one.

The one I have and love is the Conair Wet Dry (its the bright red one). Blow-drying really kills ur hair, and the straighteners drying system locks moisture into the hair. It takes only about 15 minutes on normal hair, 25 on thick hair (which is what I have). Its very good quality and durable, won't break down. It hasn;t broken down for me in 3 years. It does not exude any strange smells and works like a charm. Its ionic technology makes hair smooth and versatile. Best of all, its completely affordable. I got mine for $22.99.

If you are looking for a more costly flat iron, then you might want to go for a Sedu or Chi straightener. They are very expensive, but do work well. However, I think the Conair Wet Dry one works pretty well, too. Choose whichevr fits your price range.

I hope this helped and good luck! What is the best ceramic flat iron?

I hear super good things about CHI, but I haven't tried it for myself yet, if I was to buy a new one, I'd try CHI

this is the best ceramic flat iron i ever used!!!!!! i really don't know if i can live without it! i swear by this straightener i've had it for 3 years already nd it still hasen't let me down.......good luck with ur decision!!!
I have a GHD. I have used other ones, but this one works wonders.
CHI!
GHD GHD GHD!!! It hasnt been promoted quite as well in the states as in europe unfortunately, athough thats probably largely because its such a household item in europe the company isnt exactly screaming for extra money/customers. Its a european product anyway. My hair is thick, wavy, coarse and unruly and absolutely nothing works to straighten it other than a GHD. This thing is amazing and unbeatable

Read reviews anywhere and you will find a good percentage of people that had there Chi die within a very short period of time, mine did within two days. I LOVE my $40 Envisage from amazon, leaves my hair soft and shiny. I've heard good things about Babyliss and GHD to. Oh and the Conair Steam Straightener is expensive but better for your hair and does a great job leaving your hair very shiny. What is the best ceramic flat iron?
the CHI is the best! it has ceramic plates and will not damage your hair!!! ive been using it for a year and i love it! it also keeps your hair very very shiny for a long period of time. What is the best ceramic flat iron?
I've always been a fan of GHD...

But they're super expensive.

Remington Wet-to-Straight worked amazing on my hair.
anything from babyliss.

What is the BEST ceramic flat iron to use on naturally coarse hair( black and very nappy)?

I've been looking into the Andis flat iron line, but does anyone have any OTHER suggestions?

Also HOW does a heat protectant work on your hair? Could somoene please thouroughly explain how it works, as well as how to USE it (directions)?

Thanks Guys. What is the BEST ceramic flat iron to use on naturally coarse hair( black and very nappy)?
Sista to Sista I feel your pain!!! I hair shoulder length hair and it is really thick. I have found a great ceramic flat iron and a heat protector!!!! The name of the flat irons are ION (sally's carries them...on sale this month for 59.99)!!!! People often suggest CHI which are great but the ION's does the same thing for lost cost! Also, I use Silk Elements (Heat Protection Spray) The trick to using a protection spray is make sure you spray your ends. The spray is to protect your hair. Breakage starts at the ends and works it way up. You want health hair!!!! I hope I helped you!!! Be Sweet and BlessedWhat is the BEST ceramic flat iron to use on naturally coarse hair( black and very nappy)?
Maxiglide!

I use Redken Heat Glide when I DO straighten my hair(which is like once a year lol). I apply two squirts before I airdry(when my hair is wet) then after it's dry before I'm about to flatiron i apply one and a half squirts. Make sure your hair is very clean before you flatiron and don't apply a lot of products. Just apply a good moisturizier(i use NTM Silk-Touch LeaveIn) and the heat protectant, focusing on your ends.

a heat protectant works by coating your hair, protecting it from both uv rays and heat from heat appliances.

you could always get some really good info on how to care for your hair at longhaircareforums.com! =D
go to this website this guy does my hair and he sells his products online

www.badboyhair.com
Okay idf you want straigteners go for GHDs they are gold plated and they dnt burn ya hair as quickly as the rest and the heat protection is good too befoer you stragten your hair you spreay it on and then straigten it, it gives an extra coat of preotectiona nd odesnt smell of burning
I would look into finding a GHD styling Iron. It has a controlled heat system and floating plates so you can straighten and/or curl with it.

Heat protecting sprays work by using proteins and humectants to temporarily coat your hair to prevent the heat from being directly on your hair strands. Kind of like sitting in the shade instead of directly in the sun.

What Is The Best Ceramic Flat Iron Straightener For Black Women With Long Natural Hair?

I am a African American and I have long thick hair, I'm about to start using the ceramic flat irons instead of those old fashion straightening combs (talk about an upgrade lol) and I don't know which one is the best for my hair. I went to a hair salon in Jan 2008 and the guy who did my hair, used a Flat Iron. After when he was finished with my hair it felt so soft and sleeky! the ceramic that he used was called,'; The Ion Brilliant W/D.'; I was so pleased of the results of what he did because normally if I had gotten my hair done with a straightening comb, it would have taken me 3 1/2 hrs!! to get finished. After about a week or 2 had past, my hair didn't feel as sleeky like it was before when i got it done, It was almost about to go back to it's Natural texture!! So I had to continuously put hair grease and oil sheen in my hair to keep It moist. This has never happen to me before!! until i decided to get a ceramic flat iron instead of a straightening comb what should i do?What Is The Best Ceramic Flat Iron Straightener For Black Women With Long Natural Hair?
I recommend going to this site and looking at their flat irons ...they have just about every brand and you can read user reviews and figure out which one works for your type hair. This is a good site to buy from....they ship really fast and the prices are pretty competitive. I am sure you could get them on Ebay but I really don't think they would honor your warranty if something would happen.

I wish you the best and hope this information helps ~~What Is The Best Ceramic Flat Iron Straightener For Black Women With Long Natural Hair?
che's are the best for straightning. they're expensive but they work

if you get one of those wet dry straightners, its better for hair
hi

i would recommend a CHI flat iron for you. i have been a hairstylist for over 20 years, and i love them. i find that the hair is silky and shiny when i am done, and i can use it on any type of hair. another great brand if babyliss, and they have great ceramic irons. either of these brands are worth the money. i would also recommend using a flat iron spray----go very lightly with it---just a fine mist. this will protect your hair from the heat, but if used properly, wll not make your hair feel sticky. good luck, and forget the straightening iron!!! they are hair killers!!!
chi isnt not 100% ceramic...so no.

but baby bliss nano are the best!

and sallys has a couple of good ones too.

What is the best ceramic flat iron?please help!?

people suggested CHI, sedu, GHD, and stuff like tht..but wich one is the best?...i have fine wavy long hair..and i would like it PIN straight without totally burning it..i have a babyliss pro professional iron..and it is no good..if it is a little bit humid my hair turns into a puffball..i would like peoples advice on how to get my hair pin straight with wich hair straightener:)What is the best ceramic flat iron?please help!?
Sedu is the best. That's what my hair stylist use. I've tried many flat irons (CHI, TCP, T3 and GHD).What is the best ceramic flat iron?please help!?
I have a revlon 1in. wide and I love it. It heats up fast and works great.
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

=== Tips for buying professional hair appliances ===

Do NOT buy professional hair appliances from unauthorized places like amazom.com, eBay, Target, Walmart, etc. Because if you do, manufacturers will refuse to honor the warranty. Buy from licensed places like salon, licensed professional beauty stores like Folica.com, Ulta.com, West Coast Beauty Supply Inc. etc

its powerful, strong, but expesnive. A lot of salons use it, and it'll keep your hair PIN STRAIGHT and it'll keep ti from being damaged
i work in a hair salon and ive been around all the major hair straighteners that cost from 100 dollars to like 500 and if you dont want to spend that much money i suggest going to walmart and getting the remington wet to dry hair straightener..i have it and i absolutly love it..i also have long wavy hair and have had a perm and i just blowdry my hiair in the morning then straighten it with the straightener and my hair gets pin straight..it works amazing......hope i helped ya!
i have very long very curly hair.

i use a remington wet to straight that i got at rite aid.

it was only 40 dollars and its honestly the only hair straightener thats worked for me i have the same problem with the humidity but i promise this hair straightener is the best

I got a NANO-TECH flat iron it's from Marshall's and generally retails for around $80 I got it for under $40...

I get SHOPSMART magazine and it tested some top brands and it suggested...

INFINITI NANO SILVER by CONAIR-$100 AND BESPOKE LABS T3 narrow Duality 83415

as a BARGAIN buy it suggested the REVLON PERFECT HEAT CERAMIC RVST2001C $30

and DID NOT recommend- The BED HEAD LIGHT ME UP TIGI BH200 $70 OR the CONAIR CERAMIC CS4JCS (I had this model and it was total CRAP!)

Also- straighteners that ';touted TOURMOLINE'; or some other new tech. didn't give products an added edge...

I've also heard that CHI is good but, in this mag. said, it didn't rate as well as lesser priced models..

Other things to keep in mind... Using grooming products designed for straightened hair.. like shampoo/conditioner and styling products make a HUGE difference.. I use GARNIER FRUCTIS like on sleek n shine and it works really well...

Hope this helps and good luck...
I have a CHI which runs about 99-145 USD. It gets my hair straight in a matter of min. I love it and it was worth every penny.

i love my sedu...i have thick curly hair and it straightens it so easily and makes it really soft and shineyWhat is the best ceramic flat iron to buy?
I know all of the really expensive professional ones are really good.

But I have a Conair and I love it! I got it from Wal-Mart for about $20-35. It's 2 inches so kind of big, the inside is gold, outside is black, and there is a comb attachment on one side so after it straightens your hair it combs it so your hair doesn't look stringy or pasty.

My sister had a smaller pro one and it broke really soon. My first Conair lasted for 2 years and now I'm one my 2nd one. But hey for like$25 for 2 years I can't complain.

Good luck picking a great straightener!
I am actually looking to buy a ceramic flat iron too. I am going to Ulta tomorrow to probably buy something from CHI. My moms hair dresser recomended it. It is $120.00 but I think it is supposed to be worth it. Good luck!
CHI is good but it broke down easily for some people. I've had mine for 3 years and so far so good. Linea Pro, Sedu and Solia are good too. But the best one is GHD, if you're willing to shell out $200+.

    Good luck.
CHI works really well, especially if you have thisck or frizzy hair. I would recommend going to a store like Ulta and ask them for recommendations if the CHI is out of your price range.

Thank youWhat is the best ceramic flat iron?
Ive had a chi about three times. They are great but they break down after about a year.....but i used it everyday and have long hair. I bought a sedu over a year ago. It is still going good and i personally think it is better than a chi. They both cost about the same between $115-$120, you can get the chi at certain stores but the sedu i think you can only buy it online. Try folica.com for either one. They both keep your hair straight throughout the whole day but make sure to use a spray like tresemme hair tamer or else they will damage your hair with split ends. i think they are well worth the money, my hair is a mess without them!!! The SEDU is amazing its my first choice then the CHI in a close second......good luck!

Oh and they will save you soooooooooo much time i promise. i have hair down to the middle of my back and it is pretty think and kinda naturally wavy and it never takes me more than 30 mins to straighten it after i blow dry my hair. What is the best ceramic flat iron?
The Chi only has one heat setting. When I bought my straightening iron, somebody was helping me and told me that the chi is very good, but it has only one setting thats very hot. There's really no way of telling you right now what the best one is. My advice is, when you go to the store get somebody to help you and take a look at your hair type. For example, I have very soft hair, so the Chi would be really bad for me... considering it's about 400 degrees. I can straighten my hair well with 250 degrees, but my straightener goes up to 425... So ask at the store you go to and somebody will help you. Mine cost me about 80 dollars and it's great. Ceramic. With like 10 heat settings...
GHD is the TOP of the line ceramic flat iron its very expensive but it gets very hot (with temp control) good quality, quick results and safe for your hair.

    http://www.folica.com/GHD_Ceramic_Hai_d3鈥?/a>

also research some good products to use while straightening your hair to protect it because heat without protection equals disaster no matter what flat iron you have.
    The SEDU!!!!!

    I am getting one because

    it is the best straitener!

Chi isn't that great they don't last long either

so check out the sedu at http://folica.com

it is soooo amazing you will love it!

and to protect your hair get the chi heat protectant

for 10 dollars it is so helpful!

    GOODLUCK%26lt;3
Chi is good, but get one with a temperature dial - you'll need a very hot temperature since your hair is stubborn. Get solia or sedu. Make sure you buy from folica.com because they have the cheapest prices.
ghd's ive had them for about 4 to 5 years now and never had any problems with them ,

I really like Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion Flat Iron (1-1/4';). you can find it on folica.com. It is a bit more expensive though ($130)
I heard Maxxi Glide is really good.
trust me on this, im a hairstylest.. dont get a straigtener any cheaper than $45. it will just break down and youll have to buy a new one. get a thick straigtener, a thin one will just take twice as long to do. get one that heats up fast, and has diferent temperatue settings. i reccomend conair, revlon, or a professional one from your local hairport
I use the Chi one and I love it! I think it's 1-1/2 inches (the width of the plates). The longer the hair the bigger you want it. It's only available at beauty supply stores or salons (and online of course!).

help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my hair keeps getting damaged. What is the best ceramic flat iron that wont danage my hair?
CHIWhat is the best ceramic flat iron that wont danage my hair?
Chi. It's what the professionals use.
The Chi! But make sure you use the Chi styling products to prevent drying out your hair, otherwise you will burn your hair!
if you put that much heat to your hair everyday naturally its goign to get damaged.. but to help it get less damaged.. the CHI straightner is the way to go.. not the CHI turbo.. but just the regular CHI... its not too expensive and it works extreemly well.. and it doesn't damage your hair as bad as other straightners would... what u should try to do is wash your hair every other day.. or even less than that.. and try to go a couple of days or more without straightening it... so yoru hair doesn't have to much processed heat on it.. however long you can keep yoru hair straightened without washing it the better.. just use it to ya know.. straighten the little bumps that you get.. but try not to do it everday..
conair 3/4 inch straightener works great for me, i also use VO5 straightening gel it really helps keep in the moisture. I would try the gel first with your current straightener, its only like $3 and you only need a little bit each day, its worth it.
They are all damaging. Chi probally is the best but I've spent tons of money on the best flat irons because I HAVE to iron my hair everyday or else it looks horrible. Even with Chi my hair still breaks and is dry. I have to use really good products to prevent this so you might want to invest in products.
I always hear that the CHI is good. But those things are about $125. Get a ceramic iron that lets you set the temperature and keep it kind of low. Also make sure your hair is well conditioned and moisturized before you put heat on it. To not have to use it every day, try wrapping your hair at night so it has an automatic ';bend'; in it and you wont have to use the flat iron as much. If you wrap it every night, you won't have to use the flat as often (depending on your hair style).
the ultra chi is so flippin awsome! if you get the chi silk your hair will look so good, healthy and shine. plus the ultra chi's come in cool colors...mines lime green:)
Heat is heat...your hair is going to get damaged with regular use of a flat iron. the ceramic ones are best for distributing heat evenly, etc. Your best bet is to treat your hair before flat ironing it. Use a product with a silicone in it to protect, that way the product takes the brunt of the heat (you will see ';steam'; come off your hair when you flat iron with a good product )

five star. its grey, and has 5 red stars across the top.

the chi turbo iron is great because it heats up fast and you can control the temperature as opposed to the regular chi iron which only has a high setting. i have fine hair so too much heat will make it break and shed easily. you can purchase them at your local bed, bath, and beyond store surprisingly which is great because most people order them online and have it shipped to their address which can be a pain and added expense if you have to return it for any reason. it also has a soft cloth covering on the outside to prevent burning yourself when you have it close to places like your neck, ears, forehead, etc. while your ironing. i love mine so far and it tames my hair so well that i dont have to use it everyday which is great since i need to avoid excessive heat styling anyway. also, i got mine for $135 even though the retail price was $169 because i used some discount coupons they had sent to me in the mail making it an even better deal! good luck!
    definitely the chi straighteners!!
I personally prefer Gold'N Hot hair supplies. I have their curling iron(s), crimping iron %26amp; flat irons. They have some that only heat on one setting, but in like 30 seconds they're hot hot!!! They have some more expensive ones that let you set the temperature you want it on. They're very sturdy %26amp; I've had mine for about 5 years, they work well on any type hair, I think it's the best buy.
    go to ulta.com
    the CHI def.
    I personally like GHDs

拢100 maybe cheaper now, ive had mine for 4 years now and nothing wrong with them. They straighten and dont dry out your hair. you dont have to go over the same piece of hair so safer. :)
Although the Chi is the most known Name, the technology is old. It will burn your hair I have seen it happen. We have done a lot of research on this and found that the Mega star iron is the best. The chi iron only has a ceramic paint on the plates. The mega star plate is all ceramic, how much better is that? A lot!! There are a lot a lot of other improvements as well. Feel free to email me about that if you would like I know quite a bit about these. You can check out my web site at www.mastersharpener.com and follow the link to the beauty supplies under the shears and things link.
A CHI works wonders, I tell ya. I also hear Remington Wet to Straight is very good quality. All these are very pricey though.
CHI straighteners are the best I've ever used! It makes my hair super straight and so soft! They are kind of expensive but they are defiantly worth every penny!

    good luck!
iso international ceramic hair straightener and curling iron-

it straightens and curls, and it even makes ur hair shiny! i have one, and it heats up in about 6 seconds- and, it doesn't burn ur forehead if u get it to close to ur roots!

    http://www.isobeauty.com/
either a CHI or a FHI. I have a CHI and it warms up within a minute ish and works well. I've had it for almost 2 years and it still works wonders on my insanely curly hair. My friends pitched in for my 13th birthday and got it for me for around 180 or 200 dollars. One of my friends though, has a FHI and it warms up within 10 seconds. It works even better but it costs soooo much more. Hope I helped.
I heard the Farouk CHI flat iron is really good and heats up in under 10 seconds and the heat is evenly distributed. It's one of the best around and I'm about to purchase mine next week.

a website you can look at is www.folica.com Should be around $100
I have hair longer then halfway down my back so I straighten it. I use a conair straightener that is like a 2 inch flat iron base. and it heats up in like a minute. And i finish my very long hair in just 10 minutes.

What do you reccomend is the best ceramic flat iron for Very curly frizzy hair?

Absolutely no question about it--buy a CHI flatiron. Uses heat and ionic technology to break apart the water molecules in your hair as it flattens it. I use a CHI ionic blowdryer too with a flat brush. Nothing works better. Ask any high-end hairdresser, salon or stylist--you can't get these at Supercuts. Pricey--but worth it if you want professionally straightened hair every time. I have very long (mid-to-low back) curly and frizzy blond hair and it gets mine like glassy silk in under 20 minutes wet from the shower (dry and flatiron). Both of my CHI products have withstood very heavy usage and travel bang-ups and still work beautifully. What do you reccomend is the best ceramic flat iron for Very curly frizzy hair?
I have the exact same hair as you...use revlon or CHI straightener and use chi oil too! Their oil will cause no burns or split ends! revlon would be in 3rd placethough! What do you reccomend is the best ceramic flat iron for Very curly frizzy hair?
As someone who has used MANY different brands of flat irons on my extremely curly and frizzy hair, I must say that, though the iron does make some difference, your technique is what matters most. You have to be very patient and flat iron your hair in small sections. After using the cheapest flat iron from walmart to a CHI that I borrowed from a spoiled friend, I have found that the benefits of a CHI or other high end flat iron don't make up for the money you have to shell out to get them. I use a $40 remington flat iron from walmart, and nobody believes that I have naturally curly hair unless i wear it curly to prove it. The Conair Infinity series flat irons are really good, too.
    CHI straightner
    GHD's. good luck
Chi ceramic flat iron...with some Iron Guard product. It will be an investment, but a good one.
Chi, they are very good. They don't burn your hair or damage it. I think it's 'round $85-$90.
CHI is the best. My mom's friends is a hair stylist and she recommended the product to me. It costs around $90.
go to a salon a ask them... it will cost a lot of money ( around 100$- 180$)

I have a Solano flat iron, but it's not ceramic. I want one that will straighten my curly hair. Any ideas? Thanks!Waht is the best ceramic flat iron available?
ive owned a couple different brands.

chi, fhi, conair, remington, and sedu.

ive researched many other brands as well.

from what ive tried and heard the sedu revolution is my favorite.

all of the other irons ive had seemed to do a significant amount of damage to my hair. the sedu revoultion seems to not damage my hair as much and i have the same sleek results as i did with my chi.

with any flat iron you have to be very careful, they will all burn your hair no matter what. so make sure you get one with an adjustable temperature, that way you can make sure your not putting too much heat on your hair.

I have tried tones and I use one all day every day. I used to have a chi and it was the love of my life. Then I tried a FHI. The FHI is my fav by far. It is durable reliable. It has 2 years of daily use under its belt and is going strong!

Its made by a couple of employees that worked for chi, quit, and started their own company with all the great things about the chi (hot fast easy) and none of the annoying ones (no temperature control)

When I bought it I did half a fellow stylists hair with it and left the other half the way it was done with a chi. You could see that my side was straiter and so much shinier that we had to re-do the other side. haha

Croc is better than the Chi anyday.
I also would go with a Chi. I have one and I love it!

chi is amazing but if your hair is not very curly you actually dont need a straightener with that high of a temperature, it will only do damage, go to your local sally beauty supply and ask for advice based on your hair type.
Yep, definitely Chi. They also have a way of permanently streightening your hair, but only specially trained pros can do it and it costs hundreds of dollars. It's also by Chi.

What the best ceramic flat iron for curly hair ?

Hi, i have super curly hair. My hair is very fizzy, its dry, and very very curly. I use Conair Ceramic Flat iron, but it doesnt help. I usually straight it at night, and in morning my hair get all wavy and curly again due to which i have to straight everyday. Does anyone knows which is the best ceramic flat iron for curly hair? I dont use any kind of product or anything before or hair i am done straightening, should i be using one ? What the best ceramic flat iron for curly hair ?

=== Flat Iron Hair Straighteners FAQ ======

Q: What size should I choose?

A: For most people, 1';, 1-1/4'; or 1.5'; are all good choices. If you have very thick, coarse, long or ethic hair, bigger size (1.5'; or 2';) will save you some time. If you have thin, fine hair, get a smaller one (1'; or 3/4';).

Q: What temperature should I should on my hair?

A: Based on my expereince, 380F is the average temperature to use. If you hair is thick and coarse, bump it up a bit, if you hair is fine or overprocessed, start it at somewhere 300F, and try it. If the setting does not work well for you, increase a bit until you get a setting that works well for you but does not burn your hair. Trial and error.

What the best ceramic flat iron for curly hair ?
Ok i have super curly hair and here is my advice.

CHI works really good, you can get one on ebay for $60, a little more in stores. Another iron I have found to work really good is a T3 Tourmaline wet/dry iron. I kinda like this better than chi because it makes my hair super silky and straight. It really feels silky. But its a little more expensive if you cant buy from ebay. On ebay you can get it for around 60$, but in stores its around $200+/

You need protectants when flat ironing. Of course conair doesnt work on curly hair, they are the worst possible iron you can get!

So you need a heat protector and serum. I recommend Redken Smooth Down, but if you need something cheaper try tresseme. Good luck!
You need a better flat iron for one thing. I also have curly hair and use a hot tools flat iron, they aren't expensive if you look online for them. Also, don't straighten your hair right before you go to bed. It's for sure going to be messed up when you get up in the morning unless you use lots of product like styling spray or a smoothing cream. I recommend washing your hair before you go to bed, when you wake up, you will have some natural oils on your hair at will help protect it from the heat. It should straighten pretty well in the morning, and hold all day without product. if you want better hold around your face, use hairspray.
Hello Shaney, I'm a stylist and I have super tight curls! First, conair is not a brand for us. What you need is a ceramic or tourmaline straightener and blow dryer. You don't have to get the blow dryer but it does help. Use a shine serum or heat protecting mist before you straighten to decrease the frizz. At work I have a Ceramic Pro flat iron. At home I have a $15 Andis ceramic flat iron from Wal Mart and it works just the same. That thing is super awesome- just don't turn the heat all the way up. When you first buy a new flat iron, use it at the lowest temperature and then go up until you find the right one for you. I hope this helps and feel free to ask me more!
    Hey

Invest in GHDs - they ARE the best on the market - I would not go to a salon which did not use them either. After you dry your hair, section it and spray with Wella flat iron spray then run irons through. Whatever you use to finish it isn't so important.

For these things it is better to pay more for a good product than buying 5 things that do not work.

Oh and use Fudge Dynamite reconstructor before your conditioner - it is amazing!!!!

    Hope I help!
    hey,

i too, have curly, frizzy, dry hair. and when i first started out straightening out my hair, i went from conair, revlon, vidal sasoon, all the brands found at the local wal mart. and then i got my hair done at a salon, where they used the Chi straitner. its over a hundred bucks, and didn't really like it. but i use this one, called Tourmaline Series by Jilber en Paris. My roomate gave me her old one, and its the best one yet. it cost about 60 dollars but well worth it.

and as for the products before and after, definately.

Like, if im gonna straiten out my hair the next day, i'll shampoo, deep condition, comb my hair( because regualr bristle brushes damages the ends so use combs when hair is wet) and try to put a hot iron protectant. I use Chi Silk infusion, Paul Mitchell Super Skinny serum which smells really good. And, i can usually leave it strait for about 3 or 4 days before it starts getting greasy from the products. but i use to have the same problem, waking up to wavy hair after i just spent an hour the night before straitening it.

    i hope this helps

Oh! and always deep condition when u decide to wet ur hair, it'll help!
Conair is a CHEAP brand. a Revlon is okay but try CHI. It's really good but expensive. Or try a Remington flat iron. Works relatively well and at a pretty good price. Like $60?

And I also suggest getting this heat protective spray for your hair. It's really good. Get like a CHI one or a Tresseme one. And use leave in conditioner after you shower so it won't be so dry. Mostly put some on the ends. Hope I helped!

Like everyone said... the chi. I have the bulkiest frizziest thickest hair you can imagine! My friend used it on my hair and it has never been that straight. I couldn't believe it. I saw some online for like 20 bucks once... I doubt they are that cheap though
Yeah, Chi is probably the best, if you're not worried about price. But it also depends on your hair type. If you have a lot of hair, you might want to consider going with a larger iron, such as a 1 and 1/2in or a whole 2in iron. You might want to search amazon to look around, or a store like ';Sally's beauty supplies';. But overall a Chi would probably be the best idea.

What are the best CERAMIC flat irons aviable at drugstores or Target; Walmart...?

I hear conair is pretty good? Not looking to spend more than $50.00 I want one that will last a few years! Haha thanks! What are the best CERAMIC flat irons aviable at drugstores or Target; Walmart...?
Okay, so let me tell you this. If you want a ceramic flat iron, it's best to go with 100% ceramic or 100% tourmaline. (Both materials right now are top in the market.) As expected the price will be higher.

If you're thinking about getting the CHI don't. It's a waste of money and gives you a thousand split ends. I had one and used it for only 3 months. In the end my hair was dry, lifeless and found many stands of hair with multiple splits. (I found one with 6 splits!) D=

Conair is not 100% ceramic so it will end up damaging your hair as much, if not more than the CHI. Not to mention it snags your hair. (Same goes for the CHI.)

    -Best Materials for Flat Irons-

Ceramic: It distributes the heat from the plates evenly so that some parts of your hair doesn't get more burnt than another area. Heats up relatively fast (about 5-7 seconds)

Tourmaline: It uses infrared heating system which doesn't burn your hair as much as a ceramic plating or any other.

PTFC heating: This works more with ceramic plates but it also radiates so and even heating across the plates. It is also far-infrared heating (the deep and safe penetration of heat into the core of the hair cortex to seal the cuticle, molding it in any desired style from straight to curls) which in other words, locks in the moisture. =D

So, if you are still looking for a flat iron but want one that is cheap that's your choice. (Cheap = Burnt hair) A rather average one that is cheap is the Conair Infinity. But if you are looking for some good quality ones definitely go for the Sedu.

Best of Luck~ =DWhat are the best CERAMIC flat irons aviable at drugstores or Target; Walmart...?
wet to straight is such a good one.

i used it before i got my chi.

but if you try ebay you can get a cheap chi there i heard.

under $100 i cant think of any good ones ive used. CHI has always been by far the best. it cost usually around $120. doesnt damage your hair like others and works faster. maybe try looking on ebay and you can find them a lot cheaper just make sure to look at the persons feedback you buy from. or if you trust stores better and are willing to pay the extra $$ thats also better because if it breaks most places (like jcpenny) will give you a brand new one even without a receipt. For someone with curly hair CHI's probably the only way to go. it sux but you get what you pay for i guess :) i hope this helped good luck! What are the best ceramic flat irons?

    good luck!
I suggest tourmaline, they make your hair feel less damaged
It is hard to get a really good iron for under $100. However, for about 100-150, you can get an amazing one that will last you years. In my experience as a hair stylist, I would suggest the Chi iron, or the Paul Mitchell smoothing iron. Both around $120, and not only can they straighten, but they smooth out frizz, and when turned or beveled either in or out, they can also create very pretty waves and curls.

    not chi

Buy from licensed places like salon, licensed professional beauty stores like Folica.com, Ulta.com, West Coast Beauty Supply Inc. etc
there's a really good solid ceramic plated one called conair infiniti that you can buy at target or walmart.it works really good and goes up to almost 400 degrees! i love it!
